gear to fit chain
Hello everyone, I`m new to this. had my first print today of a gera. It did not fit perfectly on my chain so I was hoping for some advice.
I`m uploading a picture of the chain, and hope you guys can help me out thinking a way to draw a gear that would fit.
Maybe there is a smart way.
Appardon me, if this is in the wrong category.
Best regards

What design software are you using? Most of them have native or extra plug-ins for specifically doing gears.
Imagine the gear is unrolled and laid flat on the chain. That's how you want to think about spacing the teeth. The teeth on the gear should be spaced the same as the gaps in the chain.
Also, try a thingiverse (or other collection site) search for your chain/gear, somebody probably has already made one.

Here is a thread talking about how to design a ball-chain gear. The same logic applies to a normal chain gear.
