Strange numbers in Code ??
This is a copy of part of the command code in Makerbot slicer:
"layerHeightMinimum": 0.27,
"layerHeightMaximum": 0.40,
"layerHeight": 0.34,
"layerWidthMaximum": 0.4,
"layerWidthMinimum": 0.4,
"layerWidthRatio": 1.48148,
I'm trying to determine what the strange number is in layerWidthRatio ?
It seems that number Should be a percentage ? Like maybe 150.%
So, how can 1.48148 translate to a percentage ??Last edited by EagleSeven; 10-10-2015 at 01:49 PM.

A ratio is expressed related to 1, a percentage is expressed related to 100 so a ratio of 1.48 is 148%.

148148 is something to do with metric/imperial/metric conversion involving 1/40 of an inch (25 thou) and 27.

I first did a test at the default LayerWidthRatio of 1.48148 and then did one at 1.5
and it did great , of course there was not much difference in them.
I then did one at 1.4, it was good but under microscope it looked little less smooth at outer surfaces,
but that could be a Optical-Delusion.
I will 'Get Radical' next and try much lower and higher ratios.
Note: I'm Not wasting filament doing these tests, I'm printing useful items at same time

I think I'll Leave it at 1.5
Looks So much more Logical than 1.48148 !

Amazing ! !
I Reduced the build-Time from 6 hours to 2 hours, required for a print,
by increasing the layer thickness setting to .2 , from .15
(little difference there makes a Big difference in Time)
And the object still looks Great !
