Because I lost both my thumbs in a drone attack.
I realize it's probably not the way to do it, but was working on the gimbal before the printer, and the thought of software contol of the pan & tilt came up. 2axis boards are very cheap, though not much cheaper than a Ramps, but its a self contained unit. Some 32bit,
So if it was possible it would have to sync somehow, but just for controlling position of pan & tilt not for acting like a gimbal, but steppers probably have an easier time holding position.
but i dont have a degree in robotics, so a little more experimentation needed. Would like to get familiar with Mach 5 and some alternate stepper drivers.Last edited by MechaBits; 10-05-2015 at 11:10 AM.
