3Dom USA Releases New Glass Filled PLA Filament
3Dom USA has just unveiled a brand new 3D printer filament which they say is 1.4 times as strong as ordinary PLA while also 1.9 times as flexible. The material is a composite which is made up of PLA along with glass fiber and is priced at $49 per 1kg spool. The company says the material is great for engineering applications as well as prototyping, and has an appearance that's similar to ceramics once an object is printed with it. More information on this new Glass Filled PLA can be found here: http://3dprint.com/85153/3dom-usa-glass-filled-pla/
Let us know if you have used this material. Below is a picture of some objects which were printed using it:

Hey NoahSH, I see your point of confusion there. The reason we called it "Glass-Filled PLA" is because there are tiny strands of glass fibers within the polymer, hence "Glass-Filled". These strands make it stronger than conventional PLA. If you are looking for something more glossier you'd have to look at our Biome3D; if you want something clear like glass you'd have to look at an ultra-clear PLA.

Yeah, glass filled PLA is somewhat closer to carbon filled PLA than actual glass.
