The medical world continues to advance with the help of 3D printing. Late last month, the first 3d printed titanium sternum was implanted into a 54-year-old woman in China. The surgery was the first of its kind and ultimately it will help the woman live a more normal life. Instead of being left with a huge gap in her check, she now has a 3D printed sternum which is designed to mimic her original one.
