8th Graders 3D Print This Incredible Spider-Man Prosthetic
Eighth grade science teacher Peter Graven has been introducing 3D printing into his classroom in Wisconsin, having started with a MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Academic Bundle, crowdsourced via DonorsChoose.org. He has since gained two more classroom 3D printers, as well as familiarity with e-NABLE. Inspired by the volunteer group's mission, Graven created the "Hand Project," comprised of student volunteers from his group--and they were matched with a 5-year-old boy born without a full left hand. In the last months of the school year, Graven's "Hand Project" group designed and built a Spider-Man-themed hand for the young boy.
