Problem with filament discharge from extruder

I have a printrbot and the filament just clumps at the nozzle and it is very thin and stringy. It never sticks to the bed at all, the entirety is clumped at the nozzle.

Hi, I'm willing to help but without photo, parameter values or even the material involved... please understand it's difficult to have a definite opinion.

So :
1/ A couple photos of the bed & hotend.
2/ the material you try to print, what you put on the bed to make it stick of what is covering your printbed
3/ the layer height, speed, nozzle diameter, ...
4/ steps performed : have you done the bed levelling ?

If all this fails we'll look at your model too probably.
