So would you say, Printrbot,Solidoodle 4 or XYZprinting Da Vinci 2.0 Duo?

for reliability, build quality and no locked carts. ie: use any filament you like.
Printrbot.
Bigger prints but potential problems - the other two.
I'd probably go solidoodle over davinci as - I believe - they just use standard filament and not super expensive cartridges. Which you can hack and work round - but it's all added hassle.

nope - don't really know much about them, except you see a lot of people complaining about them :-)
Plus I live in england and I don't think you do :-)

i went with the prusa i3v 12". $650 with a heated bed etc. you just gotta put it together yourself. plenty of videos though.

i also went with that model, the prusa i3v 12" kit from makerfarm. got it last thursday, and built it in a night and have it already churning out parts.

im finally going to buy the solidoodle 4, and im going to add a E3D V6 HotEnd to it, any other must-have or recommendation for a 3D printer?
