Thread: What printer?

    What printer?

    Hello useful people!
What printer would be the best to manufacture a 15x15x10cm product with a simple design?(product is smaller but this is just a rough size to open up more doors)
Actual product size is about 15x8x2cm,
it needs to be able to print as quickly as possible,
    Needs to be reliable,
Easy to obtain spares and simple to repair.
Budget not decided yet so best one for under £1000, £5000, and £10000 to give me an idea what I can expect from it.
Thank you very much for your time, i really appreciate it!

Affinia, UP that cost under 1500$ is reliable.
Ultimaker 2 is also reliable but would cost 2000 euro.

Define how quick you want to print, because speed usually do not go well with 3D printing.

First, i own one.. and im very picky...
    1. Quality is STUNNING. here is a fly fishing reel (not my design, thanks michael) at .1mm layers, with translucent PLA.

    2. Ease of setup - within 20 minutes you are printing... Its generally a leveled bed right out of the box..
    3. Dual extruders, and direct drive (so you can print flexibile materials).
    4. Cover for printing ABS without warping.
    5. Support - tang from FF support is responsive and good. I had 1 issue (my own fault) and he fixed it immediately.

Ive had no real issues to speak of.. its running right now... i just think its an amazing box.

how fast does it print compared to others in a similar price range?
    Thanks!

i run most of my prints around 40-70mm/s which is pretty standard for good quality. i could push it faster, but i wont.
    super quality, 20mm/s or so.

I think the Makerbot requires filament cartridges sold by the maker that cost app. 30% more than open source.
You might look at a Robo R1. It can use almost any filament, has a 8"x9"X10" build area and is plug and play.
Even comes with the open source softwhere on a thumbdrive. I am looking at it now, will probably get one.
    Check it out, Frank

    PS: It cost $799 US
