New Pancake 3D Printer Can Print Intricate Details
UK design and product innovation company Kinneir Dufort is changing the face of pancakes with the help of your image and digital photography and processing software — and the 3D printer. Using the heated print bed as a griddle and the printer nozzle to dispense batter, the images of the faces become apparent through the 3D printing process as each layer leads to deeper tones which create the personalized image in the pancake. Pancakes in the UK aren't eaten for breakfast. Pancake day, otherwise known as Shrove Tuesday, is when people eat pancakes in the evening. It has it's origins in a pre-Christian, pagan winter/spring ritual where eating the pancakes was meant to imbue people with some of the qualities of the sun.
