Da Vinci 1 hot end and extruder replacement

I designed a new carriage to replace the Da Vinci 1 hot end and extruder. I used a Hexagon hot end and MK8 extruder. It works great. My Da Vinci printer has been converted to a Ramps/Arduino controller. I do not know if this will work on a Da Vinci that has not been converted to a different controller.
It uses linear bearings and there is a 15mm and a 16mm bearing version on the thingiverse files.

How easy is it to convert the Da Vinchi to RAMPS? I've been wanting to do it but it seems hard. Is there a specific guide that you used?
