Hi. Soofle616 is right, I'm not looking for a dual purpose machine.
The PC and software for the scanner died 5 years ago, and the company is closed, so my hopes of getting the scanner up and running again are no more.
The machine is very stable and I think the speed is around 100mm/s so I guess you're right, it wouldn't be that fast.
I took off a cover to see what motors are used dor the xyz axis's , and that makes no sense to me
Maybe it tells you something though. I noticed that the motors are fitted with encoders though, but if they should be used or not, I don't know.
Maybe you're right, maybe it'll be too much work to get this working........could be fun though
Thanks for your input guys

@whythelolface, yep, all the motors are the same and I think they're dc-motors too.
They're mounted with couplings and have around 8mm shafts, so changing them wouldn't be a problem.
There's also a big box containing servoamplifiers and stuff, but that one's dead aswell.
It was build as a 3d scanner with the option to mount a mill-head instead of the touch probe
Just never worked to great though.
