Here is my rear mounted spool holder! This created to lower the overall dimensions of the printer so it will fit in the smallest enclosure possible. Enjoy!

That looks great!. I am sure you have tested it, how does the feeding compare to the regular spool holder?

Thanks!
Ah forgot to mention that! It is great, so far has worked for me with no issues for two 1 hr prints. the spool rests on only the small cylinder extruding up from the spoke part in the center so there is almost no friction at all. No bearings necessary.Last edited by gmay3; 01-16-2015 at 01:50 PM. Reason: to give some thanks

so the bolts and nuts needed are in addition to the ones coming from the LCD panel correct?

Yes, all of them are spares from my kit although I'm not sure if others have them as well. At a worst case all the parts could be glued together where new screws were needed.

Will be printing this out this weekend! I printed out the top bar for the wider spool holder but forgot to set the infil, and so while it printed pretty good, the inside is hollow and I wonder how well it will hold up. I like your design better.

Hey Gmay3, I think you are missing the stl file of the piece that the post/spool holder mounts to.
Also the right side when I sliced it in Cura said it would take 15 minutes to print. When I got it loaded in pronterface, it looks to be missing the fram around the cut outs.Last edited by usarmyaircav; 01-17-2015 at 02:31 PM. Reason: typo, more info
