First Layer Snags

I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead for a weird issue in my slic3r. I'm printing a large object (8x8) and have noticed that while the first layer goes down perfectly, the second seems to be set too high. My first layer height is 0.35 and all other layers are 0.30

When I look at my sliced file, it does indeed show a thicker second layer as opposed to all subsequent layers. This shows in the print as the second layer tends to curl slightly or not adhere as well. I've attached a screen shot of what I'm seeing in my profiles, and was wondering if anyone else had seen it before. The pink box illustrates the difference in the height of the second layer as opposed to other layers....
