Reprapper's new filament - Copper PLA
Entering 2015, Reprapper has successfully developed a new material for FDM-based 3d printers.
If you are a 3d printing hobbyist, and you find common 3d filament (ABS, PLA, PETG, Flexible...) just cannot meet all your needs for printing, try Reprapper's Copper PLA.
This new filament actually smells and feels like copper, which people may think it's pure metal filament. In fact, it's PLA-based filament added with copper, so it prints well on common FDM-based 3d printers. Models printed with this special filament have special surface and color like copper.
If you are interested in this new copper filament, see more at http://www.reprappertech.com/blog/Copper_filament/.

Hi ssayer,
Sorry that our staff only put several spools online for promotion, and it went out quickly last night as many people were interested in this new filament.
We have put copper PLA back online for sale now. If you are interested in it, please check out here: http://www.reprappertech.com/reprapp...l#.VK5iavSUk5qLast edited by Echo Moo; 01-08-2015 at 04:57 AM.

Followed your link and put in an order for two (tiny) spools. Just a heads up, your checkout requires an input for "Street Address 2". I put a "?" in that field just to get past it and be able to check out.

Now the colorfabb copperfill specifically says it's not suitable for machines with a plastic feed tube through the heater block to the print head. The bronzefill is fine but not the copper.
Any idea if the reprapper filament is equally as incompatible ?

Hi sayyer,
Thanks for your support.
The aim of setting two "street address" is to add labels to every address field so buyers can mimic "House number" or any other field separation.
According to your feedback, our e-commerce staff has revised our site so there will be only one "street address" to fill in from now on.Last edited by Echo Moo; 01-09-2015 at 03:10 AM.

In fact, this copper filament can be used for ptfe tube printer head or steel tube printer head. The copper powder is small enough to go through 0.4mm or 0.36mm nozzle. There is also a fan to blow the printer head to cool the head, so will not jam. In theory copper filament can conduct more heat energy at the same time. So during printing, it can be cooled faster and even without supporting parts, the result is good for many models. Another advantage is the supporting part can be removed easier than pure PLA.

As soon as mine hits the door, I'll be testing it out, and will give an impartial review.
