Filament Vendor Recommendations?
I am looking to buy some more ABS filament and I have typically bought the Octave material with good results, anyone recommend other vendors they have used with good pricing?
This also brings up another idea. How about a sticky on Vendors, maybe one sticky on bad vendor experience?

We get all of our ABS from Sainsmart. We have been very happy with their quality control.

- My favorite vendor for PLA is RioRand from Amazon; great quality & prices.
- My favorite vendor for Flex EcoPLA (also known as Flex TPC) is MakerGeeks; good prices, great quality, & outstanding customer service.

Thankyou for the info, what extruder temps do you use on the RioRand? Have you tried trimmer line? Just curious at what it is like.

- Before using my settings take into account that I'm using an Orion Delta from SeeMeCNC, different printer model's will have a thermistor that reads a little different. For this PLA I use a 205-210C filament temp with a 55-60C bed temperature. I do a more extensive review in MY BLOG ARTICLE.
Edit:
- As for using trimmer line to print; I don't recommend it. Its not that it won't work because it does, but it will increase your probability for printing issues and can degrade the overall print quality. Trimmer line is not checked for diameter tolerances, nor is it very concentric. My suggestion is to just invest in some quality Nylon filament.
- If you are interested in using trimmer line there is an ARTICLE HERE that describes it being used.Last edited by GOC; 01-08-2015 at 11:51 AM. Reason: Added additional information on trimmer line
