Send M119 to the printer to report the end stop status. If you get nothing back, you've not loaded the firmware correctly. If it tells you the end stops are triggered, either you haven't connected the end stops yet, they're wired incorrectly or the firmware is not configured correctly for them. If the firmware thinks your endstops have been triggered the motors won't move toward the end stop position. Same for max end stops, meaning your motors may not move at all.
