Andrew Bougie's son received a set of superhero action figures for his birthday. Bougie, who works for ScanSource 3D and has 3D printed incredibly small figurines in the past, borrowed his son's action figures couldn't resist scanning and 3D printing them. Using an Artec Spider scanner, Bougie was able to capture impressive detail from the figures, and then fuse the multiple scans together with Artec Studio software, creating new likenesses of his son's Hulk, Captain America, and Spider-Man figures. Working with Blender software as well to render the detail, Bougie printed them on his 3D Systems 3500 HDMax using VisiJet X material, then hand painting them. He could also import them in Zbrush, paint them digitally, and print them on a ProJet 660Pro. Check out details on this fun project: http://3dprint.com/33614/3d-scanned-superheroes/
