yeah I have mine sitting in a box here, I do have 1 roll of 3mm filament I could use, but I would literally be rebuilding the extruder to use one roll of filament, the 3mm is so stiff!! I dont know how people work with it.
Just get a J-head or similar extruder, I buy alot of my stuff of LearCNC, they are not cheap but they are reliable, aussie stock too.

If you are going to build your own extruder, I do recommend getting a few things..
Either one of these, they are $50, pretty good deal

They also sell a hexagon, which is the one I got but it's $70 and a bit overkill, I wouldnt say its all that much better than the merlin.
You will also need a hobbed bolt

Try and get one with the offset between 24mm and 25mm, that seems to be the standard for Geared extruders these days.

The main thing you will need is this.. These should be the same as the ones I got, they are pretty cheap and nasty but they work.
Ramps9.jpg
Then just simply find the best prusa ramps tutorial you can find that speaks in your language, some are a bit over the top, some are just simple enough to follow without too much messing around.
And this is your wiring
NOTE
See the end stops in the image below have 3 wires, we are using 2 obviously. See there is Green, Orange Yellow? do not use the Yellow!
You only are using the 2 connections toward the edge of the board, the green and orange. This is important for zappy zappy puff of smoke reasons.

Here is a good tutorial

You will need to also make sure the Z axis doesnt move too fast or the threaded rods will whirr awayHex3D - 3D Printing and Design http://www.hex3d.com

I have wired it, but it has on the arduino board a socket for a power adaptor, does it need this? the power suppy that came with the printer gives 12v at 20AMPS, the ramps requires 12v at 5A then 11A, how did you get around that?
Cheers
Michael.
