Octoprint
I am interested in setting up an octoprint setup with my Prusa i3v. Does anyone know if the Rasberry Pi B+ have powered USB ports?

I am using a Raspberry Pi B+ with Octoprint as the server for my Printrbot. It does have powered USB ports, but I've had some intermittent function. I speculate that the Pi's external power supply is marginal. I added an external powered USB hub, and all is golden - it's a great setup.

I am using a power supply to power my 3d printer. I am hoping that all the power I need for 3D printer and Raspberry Pi can come from it. Did you just buy a powered usb hub?

I already had the hub, and put it into place after seeing some errors. I should note that I'm using a keyboard, mouse, and WIFI adapter on the Pi as well, so your mileage may vary.

What power supply do you have? I use one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Stock-D...item232fa76535 to power the printer and connect one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7V-24V-to-...item4179d0059e connected to the power supply to power the Pi. I have a wifi dongle on the pi, which the pi has no problems powering on its own.

If you have multiple things connected to the pi you need a powered usb. It can only supply a limited amount of current.
