Help with printing a 3D model
Hi there,
First post here. Just wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I am having with a model I have created. I have a MakerBot Replicator 2.
I designed the model in Maya then exported it as an STL file but when I try and print it only parts of it appear - see image:
https://mega.co.nz/#!I8s2gKbZ!HzegXynpe__hvZOQmfrHTZf86qggy99dvVD0Cg7ZNNQ
In the image panels 1 – 3 show the model I designed in Maya, panel 4 shows the resulting STL file opened in the MakerWare application, and panel 5 shows what I ended up with.
Has anybody come across this kind of problem before? For some reason only a part of the model is being printed and if you look closely you can see the hole I made in the pyramid shaped model has been printed as a solid tube (like it's inversed or something?)
Any help would be appreciated ; )

Else than the poor retraction settings, it seems your printer ignore and skip most of the work.
You sure your mesh is manifold?

OK thanks, I'll check the model tonight in Maya for any problems.
btw: Sorry but I couldn't attach the image here and the URL option didn't work either, so I had to upload the image - maybe because I'm at work and there may be some restrictions.
