5th Gen material output issue? (with image)
Hello friends, I've been having this issue with my 5th Gen for a little while now http://i.imgur.com/XeNSBmy.jpg
It seems like it's not extruding enough material or something and get's this kind of unfinished rough look to it. It only does this on the top and bottom flat surfaces of the print when it is filling in a layer. The edges of the prints seem to work fine. It also seems like it's only an issue with smaller prints, as surfaces bigger than about a square inch don't have the same issue.
This is on the high quality slicer setting and it happens with all of the filaments I've tried.
Has anyone had this issue or know what is going on?

yes, the unfinished rough look is from the extruder being starved of filament.
If you have a Z18: take the top off and set up your spools above the printer, feeding directly into the extruder.
next, the stock profiles are junk, you need to build your own profiles
