Project Eiger 3D Prints
Project Eiger is collaborating with Canon's Océ Technologies in a project inviting select interior, product or graphic designers to be a part of using their new 3D printing technology which can add up to 5mm of a raised, textured surface to your design, which might be a piece of your artwork, a copy of artwork, or perhaps a photo. In this process, 'invited customers' use Photoshop or Illustrator along with Project Eiger's plug-in, which is called the Elevation Assistant. The files are then downloaded and send to Project Eiger and Océ for printing, at additional cost. More details on Project Eiger can be found here: http://3dprint.com/19338/project-eiger-3d-print-photo/
Here is an example of one of their prints:

Hi Geoff !
Blender is cool, but it's not only about software. Can you print the same surface (180 cm by 140 cm), in one piece, and in full color ? I didn't speak about the precision / definiton

Sorry, from Brians description and the article, it looks like a service that helps you Enhance public toilet symbols so they can be interpreted better by the blind
I wish I had a printer that could do that, but then again I have no idea why I'd use one that could. Print movie posters? thats about it. I can think of some cool applications for it, it must be a fairly large machine to do that volume.Last edited by Geoff; 10-24-2014 at 07:53 AM.
