Design a solid part, only outer shell is printed. No infill or mesh.
Greetings,
I have designed a 3D part in SketchUp. The part is considered a 3D group or component (I tried both ways).
I used the CADSpan service to watertight my model and convert to STL.
When I load the STL in MatterControl the part looks 3D but in View>Layers It only prints the surfaces (base + faces/walls. No infill of the space inside the part shape. Another odd thing is that the 3D view in MatterControl shows a solid part with faces on all sides but the layer review and actual printing only prints the bottom and sides, no top as well as no infill or internal mesh.
I know that SketchUp is a surface modeler and not a solid modeler. I have been told that the slicers in MatterControl can be set to do the infill or mesh/honeycomb of internal space. I have poked around and cannot seem to find that function or option.
Can someone give me a pointer on how to get that accomplished.
(If it matters I draw/design on a Mac)
Thanks!

Try running the STL through the netfabb cloud repair service.
