3D Printing for Photographers
Hello there! I collaborated with a great engineer and we were able to get a successful lithophane made on an SLA 3D printer. Here is a blog post and I attached a sample.

Here is a wikipedia post on lithophanes. Essentially, there are from the 1800's and are an engraving that will only reveal the picture when backlit

Did you use the customisable lithophane from thingiverse (link) or create your own STL?

There are many, many ways to generate a lithophane STL file. I have not used the Thingiverse lithophane, but it seems to yield good results. I am generating my own STL's with a photo to mesh program (there are a ton out there). Photoshop also has an action for CC http://blogs.adobe.com/richardcurtis/?m=20140418 Here is an instructable using Processing http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Photograph/ Best of luck! They are fun!
