Is 3D Printing the Most Exciting Up and Coming Technology Out There?
I'd like to hear some opinions on this. I follow a lot of the tech trends and emerging technologies out there. Whether it's virtual reality, nanotechnology, regenerative medicine, graphene, solar power, the blue brain project, or robotics, things are certainly getting exciting fast. Out of all of these I just listed above, do any of them have more general potential than that of 3D printing? If so why?
In my opinion 3D printing will be so incredibly far reaching that the impact will be felt the most. All those technologies listed above could in some way or another use 3D printing to make them better.

I think that 3D printing will have the most immediate impact on humanity. I mean, I read an article the other day about a printable blood cell. The medical applications are absolutely insane. I think looking at nanotech and robotics as well will also have an impact. Though the US trying to mechanize most of their army seems as good as it can be bad at the same time.
