Control two extruders?

Hello everyone, I have been playing with ideas lately. Would it be possible to add a second extruder to my printer? and how could I control two motors at the same time, maybe even to extrude in different speed or time intervals, so I could create g-codes that allow me to print multicolored features for example? I know that there are printers that are able to do so, I was just wondering if there was maybe a way I could manipulate my PRUSA to do so. I am willing to try things out and read about stuff, but right now I do not even know where t get started.. Would I need a new board for my printer to control one extra stepper motor?I am happy about any idea!
