yeah, I've had that with a thermistor wire. It's a pretty ropey way to fix anything.
There is probably a better one. But on the cheap kit most of us use (where is autowiz ?) it's the standard method of fixing thermistors.
And not a firmware issue ;-)

Yes I know I was wrong but I just forgot about how lousy the fixing for the thermistor is in some machines probably saved less than 50 pence JEEPS
