Prusa i3 Copy on Aliexpress
Brand new to 3d printing and looking to purchase my first unit.
Looking through all the variations available, this one seems to be the best priced including the controller board and LCD (Einsy Rambo 1.1a + 2004 LCD)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33023207456.html $393.89
All of the available i3 clones seem to not include the printed parts. This listing is what I assume is being referred to.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32969669273.html $33.83
Questions:
1) Will the printed parts in the second link work with the printer in the first link ?
2) What else besides the filament will I need to get going ?
3) The reviews I've come across reference poor quality bearings. Should I order better ones off the bat ?
4) What are the other common items I'm going to want to purchase in the near future ? (different nozzles?)Last edited by pilotstephen; 04-27-2020 at 12:53 PM.

1) yes
2) you won;t know till you find what's missing from the kit :-) - it looks good.
3) not till you've tried the ones it comes with.
4) more filament :-)
Things I use regularly: micro file set, foam sanding blocks.
If the pei sheets work - then the printer seems to have everything you need.
You might want to download prusa slicer and familiarise yourself with that - and maybe look at the prusa firmware.
Got to be worth a try on your board.
Wonder if anyone's cloned a prusa mini yet > Hmm.....Last edited by curious aardvark; 04-27-2020 at 02:43 PM.

When it was available a year ago, maybe. Today this is the better option at the same price (almost): https://www.biqu.equipment/collectio...18194249744482
For the money it has all the bells and whistles. removeable bed, large build volume, dual Z leadscrews, 32 bit mainboard, touchscreen, auto leveling, auto shutdown, resume after power loss, filament sensor, cloud app, etc, etc. Most will spend money over and above the purchase price and then hours of frustration trying to create some of these features. None of which come on that clone prusa but all of which will go into the initial build of the Biqu Thunder.

make it direct drive and mount the filament on the top bar and you've got a prusa spec i3.
Nice looking beast.
Printer will print perfect...
