3D Printed Electronic Arm Printed For 13 Year old Girl
Here is yet another awesome story about a 3D printed prosthetic arm changing the life of another individual. Students at Washington University in St. Louis decided to help a 13 year old girl, named Sydney Kendall, who lost her right arm in a boating accident when she was 6. The arm cost the students about $200 in materials vs, the typical $6000 or more for a prosthetic arm. Sydney can now do things like use a computer mouse and throw a ball. She can make the fingers grasp an object simply by lowering her shoulder. Here is a picture of Sydney and the students who have helped her:
