Material that allows later modification by heat
I have a project in mind, but I need help with assessing its feasibility and selecting the right material.Imagine having an old metal object, which has been quite deformed, but it is still possible to obtain a complete 3D scan of it. I´d like to print the scan and then manually "deform" it (by locally applying heat, I guess) so it gets back to the original undamaged shape. Is there any material or technique that can help me achieve this goal?

yes there is. basically any filament will do this - it's what the word
'plastic' means :-)
But what you probably want is something like this: https://ooznest.co.uk/product/skulpt...lament-1-75mm/
PCl is the stuff: Polycaprolactone
The 3d scan is the hard bit :-)Last edited by curious aardvark; 09-25-2019 at 10:46 AM.
