    not sure your friend did you any favours.

    Most 3d printers have a square(ish) usb printer socket on the motherboard itself.
    The ender 3 is the worst designed machine around at the moment, but even the really cheap boards usually have a usb printer port.

    Actually having looked at it - probably not.
    And yes it does appear that that is your usb connection. Go to a pound/buck store and get a cheap cable.

    You're best bet would actually be to sell the ender3 to some other poor sod, and use the money for something that might work and is easier to use.

    If you are on facebook, join the ender 3 facebook group. Facebook groups tend to be pretty good.
