    Mendelmax DIY

I've been looking into building a 3d printer on my own. I think this would be a great opportunity to learn more about 3d printing while saving some money at the same time. I know there are kits out there but I also read that you could buy most of the necessary parts at a local hardware store. My school also has an industrial sized printer that I believe would allow me some access to. Let me know what you guys think.
I want to make the Mendelmax 2.0 also.

Go for it man, just make sure you do your research on what you need so you don't buy the wrong parts.

I never do, over the years I've gathered probably 50-70 pounds worth of 'useless' parts.

Could you provide me with some sites or info on where I might find the necessary parts? When I google parts lists and stuff like that, it usually comes back with people trying to sell kits, not true DIY projects.
