World's First 3D Printed Aircraft Spinner
Razor Hobbies has designed, and printed out the world's first known 3D printed aircraft spinner. The spinner is the piece at the center of a propeller which is where the power from the engine is transferred to. Extensive testing has been done on the spinner to ensure its safety. Razor Hobbies warns not to print and use this part yet as more tests are still being conducted, however the early tests have been overwhelmingly positive.
The Plane has been flown for the first time on March 30th, without any issues. The spinner performed exceptionally well. It was printed out on a Giabot 3D Printer from re3D, which is quite a large machine. Here are some picture of the aircraft spinner both on and off the plane.

The spinners takes no engine load its just a fairing to direct air into the engine cowl.

It won't be long before the majority of airplane parts will be 3D printed. Especially replacement parts for older, smaller planes.
