A Duke University graduate student and his advisor have created an algorithm, based on thousands of 3D scans, that helps robots to "see" the way humans do. With the algorithm, robots can see only part of an object and automatically fill in the missing pieces, the way humans do, to guess their identities and full three-dimensional shapes. The technology is a step towards allowing robots to function as household assistants. Learn more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/182233/3d-scanned...-robot-vision/
