Filament Extruders???
Hi there, I'm new to the whole 3d printing and just wondered if anyone owns or has experience with filament extruders as once I buy my 3d printer I want to produce my own filament to save costs.

This is one of the most popular extruders. filastruder-kit It's inexpensive too. I don't own one but am thinking about it. Maybe someone here has one and can weigh in. The big problem is going to be grinding up your old prints. That's not part of the Filastruder Kit. I need particles less than 5mm in size.
Search Google if you are DIY oriented. There are several good sites that walk you through building one. The same is true for shredders. A lot of people are working to come up with the best shredder so they can sell it to the world and become the next millionaires...lol...
Right now all of these experiments are still kind of mad-scientist or home-brew looking. The first person to package them really nicely and cleanly is going to rake it in. It's only a matter of time. The demand is there for sure.Bambu P1S/AMS

You could also build your own based on the Lyman design. Loads of variants here at thingiverse.
