Rich Lehrer is the Innovation Coordinator at Brookwood School in MA, the former Education Coordinator for the e-NABLE Educators' Exchange, and father to a child with an upper limb difference. Both coming from and contributing to his expertise in the field of 3D printed assistive prosthetics is a regularly scheduled classroom exploration of the topic using the Raptor Reloaded files. Recently, however, he realized that an intermediate step that is both useful and fun is to have students hack the Raptor files and create a grabbing device called Grab-Tor that gives them a stepping stone toward better understanding of the final project and a rocking fun toy.
