What type of Laser?
Does anyone know what type of lazer this printer will use? There will be some customs issues in some countries depending on the type of lazer. I don't believe they have announced anything yet, have they?

Should not have any customs issue since it will be a low powered laser (20mW) and embeded into the solution (not a laser pointer).
There's no official specs for now.

the focus is not that far and start to disperse as in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=T-NJuQpj3EE
do you add more focus len if say to built a boat?

If you are out of focus, you'll loose precision and will have to spend more time to "heat" the section, but since it's UV, maybe this could work.
But without a Microcontroler, you wont be able to ajust the focus.

The kit will come with a laser that you can change the focus of by hand ( rotate the laser)
The plan is to be able to tell blender what the Dot size/ focus of your laser is at the top and bottom of your print ( it wont change much over the course of most prints)
This will help blender move the laser at a speed that cures the resin correctly.
In the pro we aim to change the focus dynamically during the print using an arduino!

You can bet that if adding an arduino to the build is worth doing, there will be a tutorial on how to do it.
