cura - all versions, personally I'd recommend 15. I just find it much much easier to navigate and use then the more recent versions.
Also I tedn to use 32 bit windows - so none of the very recent versions will run on my workshop machines anyway.

And netfabb if also free as well as commercial.

Apparently the new commercial one is the dog's bollocks - well according to autodesk at the tct show anyway :-)

Also simplify3d is NOT proprietry, it's commercial.
It's not tied into any manufacturer or machine. You need to change that heading to Commercial or paid for.

Examples of Proprieitry slicers would be things like: Flashprint and whatever the hyrel uses. Ie, software that is specific for a particular brand of printer.

well I've still got the install file :-)

Also got the 2.4 32bit makerware install. Geoff's is 64bit only.

We could do with some server space to store the hard to get software.

Autodesk put out a blog post to clarify this just yesterday. It is true that there is no separate download for the Basic/free version. You download the full Netfabb version for trial, and after the 30 day trial period the functionality reduces to what you used to get with Netfabb Basic. So they say, anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up. If I recall correctly I heard ablut the end of Netfabb basic on Maker's Muse. Never used the product myself.

I am using Cura but have considered Kisslicer and Craftware before. Is there any reason to switch?

Netfabb is very useful for example for file repair and checking wall thicknesses.
I have it installed but didn't keep the installer. Can you share the install file somewhere?

There is also a commercial cloud slicer, Katana:
