A few weeks ago, we reported on the launch of Zhuhai CTC Electronic Co.'s Formaker 4-in-1 launch on Kickstarter, an impressive-looking machine that integrated a CNC mill, laser PCB, engraver, and dual-head 3D printer. It raised more than $42K on Kickstarter before suddenly being cancelled. Eventually, details emerged on the cancellation, and CTC relaunched a Formaker campaign on Kickstarter. That, too, was cancelled. It seems the company encountered issues with US employee Christopher M. Donovan, who had been overseeing the Chinese company's campaign, as Kickstarter does not currently permit campaigns to be listed from China--CTC alleges that Donovan has defrauded them with unauthorized control of the account on Kickstarter, linking the campaign to his personal bank account. CTC has now made the Formaker available for pre-sale on their site through October, with deliveries expected to commence in November.
