Lance Pickens, the CEO of MadeSolid, left the chemistry PhD program at University of Southern California and along with co-founder and CTO, David Rorex, the head of MadeSolid's engineering arm, the pair have created a line of 3D printing consumables with their experience in chemistry and hardware. Now Pickens says the company's latest product, FlexSolid, is a filament which combines of strength and elasticity ideal for prototyping and manufacturing flexible products. MadeSolid say FlexSolid will be of particular interest to makers of consumer electronics devices and medical and prosthetics specialists. They add that they believe the material has applications in wearables, fashion, and the sporting equipment sector as well.
