Kyle Staebell of Denver, Colorado has launched a very practical smartphone case idea that allows the user to grip the phone from its minimalist back side while using it. Think about it: no more dropping the phone as your thumb extends across the screen to use it. The Kickstarter campaign has been launched for the 3D printed cases in craft classic ($39) and black ($29). Staebell credits 3D printing for the ability to incorporate a copper and plastic metal that allows for some flexibility in the case material. Denver-based PHYSI3D made the case design's CAD files and will also provide the printing services for the cases.
