Doctors are now repairing patient injuries which would previously have left victims disfigured but are now treatable with 3D printing technology. In this case, a gunshot victim's face was reconstructed with a titanium jaw implant at an Israeli hospital, and the result is that he can now speak and eat again. The titanium implant was modeled with CT scan data and images take from a database of patients with similar facial structures.
