Future Engineers has issued the challenge, and school-age students are responding to the call. Design submissions are rolling in for Future Engineers' challenge for designs of useful objects that can be 3D printed and used by astronauts in space. Among some of the submissions are ingenious takes on tools for eating, reaching objects floating away, and even growing plants. All of these designs are intended to ease astronauts' daily tasks that are made more difficult in low-gravity conditions, and are meant to be able to be created in space via 3D printing.
