3D printing technology has been helping the visually impaired in several very interesting ways thus far. We have seen 3D printed maps of the Universe taken by the Hubble Telescope, and 3D printed books that were tactile so that the blind could read and even feel the pictures. Now a group in Japan are 3D printing topographic map so that the blind can better find their way around.
