Chocabyte, Affordable Chocolate 3D Printer - $99
3D food printing seems to be picking up its pace of innovation. Today Solididea.com has announced their $99 Chocolate 3D Printer, called Chocabyte. the announcement on their website reads as follows:
Introducing the worlds first affordable personalized chocolate 3D PRINTER that allows you to express your feelings with chocolate gifts that fills the heart.
The printer itself is very small. The build envelope is just 2 inches X 2 inches X 1 inch in size. This means users can print a typical large size chocolate candy. The printer comes with its own easy to use software, which allows users to create their own shapes, take a picture of an object and turn that object into a piece of candy, or use the various designs that come within the Cocabyte software. Refill cartridges costs $2.50 a piece, and need to be placed in the microwave prior to printing. A typical print will take only about 10 minutes.
The printer is available for sale on the company's website, but you better hurry because the initial production run will be limited to 500 devices.
