Can i ask, how are you guys accessing the firmware on these boards? I am relatively new to all of this, but i can get to it.

You'll need to download and install Arduino IDE http://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software. Then head to the wiki or the github link, have a read through some tutorials to get your head around it.

ok, i was able to connect to the printer through the Arduino IDE but when i click on serial monitor i just get some status info, i can not figure out how to access the configuration h file.

If you've got arduino installed, head to the firmware folder and double click on the file 'marlin'. that will open it up. Check the tabs at the top for the section you're after. Most likely configuration.h
