Curved Legos Are Here, Sort of, Thanks to 3D printing
We've all played with Legos in the past. Mostly every piece is rectangular in shape, somewhat limiting the possibilities within a build. What if Lego began producing a variety of curved bricks? This is just what one man named Jan Jurjen Zwaard is doing thanks to his handy dandy 3D printer. Zwaard is 3D printing a variety of curved Lego bricks so that he can construct a model of a local water tower. Further details on Zwaard's work can be found here: http://3dprint.com/36917/3d-printed-curved-legos
When will Lego follow suit and capitalize on this emerging 3D printing trend? Hopefully soon! Check out some of the example bricks which Zwaard has 3D printed and pieced together below:

It's great to see interest in curved LEGO blocks. Please note that the photo above is from my design on Thingiverse at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:603760

I've also designed curved LEGO Technic beams http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:629875. These are customizable so the number of holes and the radius can be changed. Here's a short stop motion I made using these curved beams: https://vimeo.com/118086832
