Post mentions laser cutter for around $250
Can someone point me to a recent post which mentions a small laser cutter attachment that sells for about $250? I want to read a bit more about it as I might buy myself one as a Christmas present.

I don't remember a post about an addon but the only one that sells for around that is the small thing made out of CDROM hardware.

You can engrave with them but they won't cut tissue paper.
No way would I consider a 3D printer a suitable place to stick a laser with enough power to cut unless you stick the start button on the outside of the room and have a safety switch and movement detectors in the room.
This was a one watt laser, typically for the sort of wood used in the Replicator frames you need at least 40 watts.

Forty watts goes through soft tissue like butter.
I bought one off ebay for £80 needing a tube, £112 for a tube and have spent the last couple of weeks fitting Ramps to it.

L-Cheapo laser cutter attachment. Uses a 2 watt blue laser diode and is specifically designed for attaching to a 3D printer. I've yet to attach mine as I want to build an enclosure first.
