It seems like this is something we could build as a group project. It would be really cool to have one of these walking around the house. But I would want a scorpion tail on it so it can threaten to sting things.

2 ways to make these (I have made hexapods before) You use stock servos, a good servo controller and processor and do it the hard way like this:
this is my own printed design.. not released publicly as it wasn't finished..
OR if you want to be really fancy, a raspberry pi. and get the good servos with memory and sensor control, so you can position the robot and it can remember the servo position, which takes days out of programming movement cycles!!!
If I had endless cash, I would go and buy about 50 of These. They are the equivalent to the dynamixel, just on a budget.Hex3D - 3D Printing and Design http://www.hex3d.com

So it says:
• Rotation scope: 0~300°
• Can be 360° continuous rotation
I'm not sure what this means. Can the shaft rotate continuously? Because the first bullet point sort of implies it can only rotate 300 degrees?
And that servo has 4 wires. So it must be controlled differently than the servos we are using for Auto Bed Leveling.

These are the proper versions of the ones I posted, I am not sure about the 300 vs 360, going to do some reading up now.
